Save Paper !!!

Germany is no. 3 regarding its consumption of paper in the world rank which is right behind the US and Japan.

As manufacturer no. 1 of paper in Europe the Federal Republic of Germany produces over 10 million tons of paper each year. The raw materials predominantly come from abroad. Mainly Canada, Russia and Scandinavia supply Germany with approximately 80 % of the pulp which is needed.

To manufacture this pulp, large areas of unspoiled woodland of these countries are destroyed.

This is not all: In order to afforest the area fast-growing soft woods are planted in a monoculture. The use of pesticides which is needed for this susceptible form of cultivation leads to an enormous impact on the ground water in the area.

A chemical process like bleaching releases dangerous toxics like chlorine and sulphur. These toxic substances are harmful for flora and fauna and of course for humans. The use of such pesticides has an enormous impact on the ground water of the region.

Every piece of paper which is not wasted is one step to counter this process!
